🚀 Getting Started
How do I scan a post?
Tap the + button, paste any Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube link, or scan a photo from your camera or gallery. Slay identifies every product in the content.
What platforms are supported?
Instagram Reels, posts, and carousels, TikTok videos, and YouTube videos and Shorts. You can also scan photos directly from your camera or photo library.
Do I need an account?
Yes, sign in with Apple or Google to get started. You get free scans and try-ons to explore the app.
What are the tabs?
Looks — your try-on gallery. Friends — see and react to friends’ looks. + — scan new content. Closet — saved products. Settings — account and subscription.
🔍 Scanning & Results
How does product identification work?
Slay analyzes images from the content using AI with Google Search to verify exact brands, product names, and colors. Each product gets a thumbnail cropped from the original content.
Can I save products for later?
Yes! Tap the hanger icon on any product card to save it to your Closet. You can also save all items at once using the hanger icon in the top bar.
Where do the shopping links go?
Shopping links open in your browser or the Amazon app. We use affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Can I share scan results?
Yes! Tap the share icon in the top bar of any scan result to share a link. Friends who open it can see the products and try them on themselves.
👗 Virtual Try-On
How does virtual try-on work?
After scanning, tap “Try it on.” Take a selfie or pick a saved pose, select the items you want to wear, and the AI generates a realistic image of you wearing them.
What are saved poses?
You can save your favorite selfies as “poses” so you don’t have to take a new photo every time. Saved poses appear at the top of the try-on screen for quick access.
Tips for the best results?
Use a well-lit photo with a clear view of your body. A simple background works best. For full outfits (pants, shoes), take a full-body photo. The app will tell you if more of your body needs to be visible for certain items.
What are Together and Separate modes?
When trying on 2+ items, “Together” puts everything in one look. “Separate” creates a side-by-side collage so you can compare each item individually.
How many try-ons do I get?
Slay Pro subscribers get 30 try-ons per month, resetting on the 1st. You can earn extra try-ons by inviting friends.
Why are some items greyed out?
Items require the right body parts to be visible in your photo. For example, pants need your legs visible, and shoes need your feet. Take a full-body photo to unlock all items.
👥 Friends & Sharing
How do I add friends?
Go to the Friends tab, tap the + icon, and invite friends by sharing a link or syncing your contacts. When they join Slay, you’ll automatically connect.
What is “Slay or Nay”?
After a try-on, tap “Slay or Nay?” to share your look with friends and get their reactions. It’s a fun way to get opinions before you buy.
How do I share looks to my Friends feed?
Tap “Friends feed” on any try-on result to share it. Your friends will see it in their Friends tab and can react or try it on themselves.
Can I mute a friend’s notifications?
Yes! Long-press a friend’s avatar in the Friends tab to mute their notifications. You’ll still see their looks, just without push alerts.
How do referral bonuses work?
When you invite a friend and they join Slay, you both get 3 extra try-ons. Share your invite link from the Friends tab or when your try-on quota runs out.
⭐ Subscription & Billing
What’s included for free?
New users get free scans and try-ons to explore the app. After that, subscribe to Slay Pro for unlimited access.
What does Slay Pro include?
Unlimited scans and 30 virtual try-ons per month. Available as Weekly ($3.99/week), Monthly ($9.99/month), or Annual ($99.99/year). All plans include a 7-day free trial.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings → Manage Subscription, which opens your Apple subscription settings. You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of your billing period.
How do I restore purchases?
Go to Settings → Restore Purchases. This will sync your subscription status if you reinstalled the app or switched devices.
👤 Account
How do I sign in?
Slay supports Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google. Choose your preferred method during onboarding.
How do I change my profile photo?
Go to Settings and tap your avatar at the top. Pick a photo from your library — it will show up in your friends’ contacts automatically.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings and scroll to the bottom. Tap “Delete Account” to permanently remove your data. This cannot be undone.
🔧 Troubleshooting
My scan failed. What happened?
This can happen if the link is private, expired, or from an unsupported format. Make sure the post is public and the URL is complete.
No products were found. Why?
Some content doesn’t have clearly visible products, or they may be too small or blurry. Content with clear, close-up product shots works best.
Try-on looks weird. What can I do?
Try a different selfie with better lighting and a simpler background. Full-body photos in good light give the best results. You can also try individual items instead of multiple at once.
“High demand” error?
This is a temporary server issue. Wait a minute and try again — it usually resolves quickly.
The app won’t load or is stuck.
Try force-closing and reopening the app. If that doesn’t help, check your internet connection. Deleting and reinstalling will restore your subscription automatically.
